At first glance it may resemble a real sniper rifle thanks to the unique placement of the air cylinder. It is not located under the barrel as with most air rifles, but surrounds the entire barrel.
A major innovation compared to the original single-shot version is the option to install a 5-shot magazine, which is compatible only with Altaros ATP Queen slugs (100 pcs included). As an alternative, a supplied single-shot adapter compatible with any ammunition in the given calibre can be used.
The exceptionally accurate 600 mm barrel from Lothar Walther features a polygonal rifling with a twist rate of 1:17.7 (the projectile makes one full rotation over a distance of 450 mm) and is equipped at the muzzle with a standard 1/2 UNF thread for mounting a sound moderator.
On the underside of the fore-end there are two pressure gauges – one for the pressure in the cylinder, the other for the externally adjustable regulator. The modernised Picatinny rail can be tilted up to 30 MRAD / 100 MOA for easier riflescope adjustment at extreme distances.
This model is factory set to 110 J (regulator set to 190 bar); below you will find an indicative table of results for different regulator settings and ammunition used, with the cylinder filled to 300 bar.

Interesting fact: The original version of the Altaros M24 air rifle, with modified power and using a tuned barrel, managed in 2019 to hit a target measuring 56x46 cm at 1280 metres and held the world record until 2023. It was then surpassed by itself, when it hit a target of the same size at a distance of 1609 metres (1 mile).
Note: For this air rifle, the manufacturer recommends using exclusively ATP Queen 6.33mm and ATP Smooth 6.35mm ammunition (Smooth version only for single-shot use without a magazine).
