The company Takumitak with Chinese roots, now based in Ontario, California, has specialized for many years in the production of knives with a robust full-tang blade of all possible shapes and sizes. Their aim is to offer the widest possible range of knives to meet the requirements of every demanding customer.
This knife boasts a robust 3.95 mm thick blade made of stainless steel 3cr13 with an etched surface finish that faithfully imitates Damascus steel. The handle is made of glow-in-the-dark resin with a stylish smoky tint. The package also includes a reliable 1680D nylon sheath, compatible with the MOLLE system.
Full-tang construction
The Full-tang designation means that the blade and the internal part of the handle are made from a single piece, which significantly increases the overall durability of the knife and prevents it from breaking.
Blade made of stainless steel 3cr13
Stainless steel designated 3cr13 is an ideal choice for knives intended for everyday use. Thanks to its lower hardness of HRC 54–56 it is easy to sharpen, and with its high chromium content you do not have to worry about corrosion. In short, it offers a balance between durability, easy maintenance, and purchase cost.
Composition: 84.03% iron, 0.3% carbon, 13% chromium, 1% manganese, 0.6% nickel, 0.04% phosphorus, 0.03% sulfur, and 1% silicon
Handle made of glow-in-the-dark resin
This time, the manufacturer chose a rather unconventional material for the handle, namely resin with an additive of glow-in-the-dark powder. After exposing the handle to a flashlight or even just sunlight, it will continue to glow in the dark, which, for example, makes it easier to find the knife at night. In addition, thanks to the mix of different colour tones, it offers a very attractive design with a smoky effect.
