You can use all types of RAM projectiles in .68 calibre as ammunition, such as rubber, pepper or marking projectiles. The rotary 5‑shot magazine is also compatible with non‑round projectiles of the Precision series. To remove the magazine, simply push the locking lever on the left side of the revolver forward and down.
The revolver is powered by one 12g CO2 cartridge, which is inserted into the grip. A weapon prepared in this way can be carried for an unlimited time without the risk of degradation of the sealing rings caused by freezing carbon dioxide. To activate it, you need to strike the protruding valve with the palm of your hand, which pierces the cartridge and the revolver is ready to fire. When pressurised, a red indicator pops up above the grip. According to the manufacturer, one cartridge is sufficient for 10 full‑power shots – i.e. 2 magazines.
Although this is primarily a close‑range self‑defence weapon, the 170 mm long barrel offers surprising accuracy. This is particularly useful for recreational or training target shooting. And if you want to equip the revolver with a red dot sight, there is a sufficiently long Picatinny rail running above the barrel. A second rail is located under the barrel for optional installation of a laser sight or a tactical light.
The internal components are made from a combination of aluminium and alloy parts. Everything is then protected by a robust body made of durable polymer, thanks to which the weight is only 773 grams. The ergonomically shaped grip is textured on all sides to ensure a secure hold.
To ensure the fastest possible readiness to fire, the revolver has no manual safety, which in a self‑defence situation could be more of a hindrance. Instead, the safety is integrated directly into the trigger and only prevents an accidental discharge if the side of the trigger is unintentionally bumped.
Like the other Umarex T4E 2nd generation products, this model has received a new quick‑activation CO2 cartridge valve. This no longer requires any tools to depressurise the weapon. The second and very welcome change is the front sight with fibre optic insert, which makes shooting easier in low‑light conditions.
Since the weapon is powered by CO2 cartridges, the rubber seals can, over time, become brittle and crack due to freezing carbon dioxide. You can prevent this by occasionally applying silicone oil: 1) spray, where you simply spray the internal mechanism, 2) applying a few drops of silicone oil to the neck of the inserted cartridge, or 3) using an oil cartridge (the easiest option). At the same time, we do not recommend leaving an activated cartridge in the weapon longer than necessary. If you know you will not be shooting for some time, release the pressure by loosening the valve.
