The effectiveness of the belts can be increased by using micro abrasive paste. In combination with the paste, the strips can prepare the blade for work and smooth its surface to a mirror shine.
The tapes are made of non-abrasive Norton fabric, which guarantees a more stable and cohesive base for the abrasive paste than the leather tapes used until then. Fabric tapes, unlike leather tapes, are easier to maintain and do not stretch over time. In intensive tests, Work Sharp has concluded that Norton belts are more efficient and that the entire sanding process is considerably shorter, plus the consumption of sanding paste is much lower. The sanding belts are designed for the Ken Onion Edition sanding tool.
The sanding set includes: two Norton fabric strips, a green chrome oxide paste for sanding and smoothing, and a red iron oxide paste for final polishing to a mirror shine.
