Heavy Slug with hollow point
H&N Heavy Slug are extra heavy lead slugs designed for high‑power air rifles for hunting and precise long‑range shooting. Compared to standard pellets they have a shape close to a bullet, and compared to standard slugs of the Slug HP series they focus mainly on even higher weight, which results in a more significant energy transfer on target even at very long distances.
The most important design feature is the hollow point with a large frontal area combined with soft lead. This design promotes expansion on impact and helps to efficiently transfer energy into the target. The Heavy Slug series is therefore a perfect choice if you want to get the maximum out of high‑power air rifles.
The slugs are suitable only for air rifles with a barrel designed for this type of ammunition, typically with a non‑choked barrel. A choked barrel, which is beneficial for classic pellets, tapers at the muzzle and may not be suitable for solid slugs.
