Heavy Slug with hollow point
H&N Heavy Slug are extra heavy lead slugs designed for high-power air rifles for hunting and precision shooting at long range. Compared to standard pellets, they have a bullet-like shape, and compared to standard slugs of the Slug HP line, they focus mainly on even higher weight, which results in a more pronounced energy transfer on target even at very long distances.
The most important design element is the hollow point with a large frontal area combined with soft lead. This design supports expansion on impact and helps to transfer energy to the target effectively. The Heavy Slug line is therefore a perfect choice if you want to get the maximum out of high-power air rifles.
These slugs are suitable only for air rifles with a barrel designed for this type of ammunition, typically with a non-choked barrel. A choked barrel, which is beneficial for classic pellets, narrows towards the muzzle and may not be suitable for solid slugs.
