The company Takumitak with Chinese roots, now based in Ontario, California, has specialized for many years in the production of knives with a robust Full-Tang blade of all possible shapes and sizes. Their goal is to offer the widest possible range of knives that will meet the requirements of every demanding customer.
This knife boasts a robust 4.92 mm thick blade made of high-carbon tool steel D2. The package also includes a reliable kydex sheath with a belt clip, compatible with the MOLLE system.
Full-tang construction
The Full-tang designation means that the blade and the inner part of the handle are made from a single piece, which significantly increases the overall durability of the knife and prevents it from breaking.
Blade made of high-carbon steel D2
This tool steel called D2 is designed for the roughest use. Thanks to its high carbon content and other additives, it reaches a hardness of HRC 61–62, which is one of the highest achievable values. Such a knife retains its sharpness for a very long time. In addition, it has a significant proportion of chromium, so it can also resist some rust.
Composition: 84.2% iron, 1.5% carbon, 12% chromium, 0.35% manganese, 0.8% molybdenum, 0.9% vanadium and 0.25% silicon
Scales made of G10 composite
G10, also called garolite, is a laminate made by pressing glass fibres soaked in epoxy resin, which is resistant to mechanical damage and does not deform under the influence of humidity or temperature changes. At the same time, it is highly grippy, so it does not slip even in a sweaty hand.
