Umarex T4E Impax P68 is a pistol for rubber, pepper and marking projectiles powered by CO₂ cartridges, designed for self-defense, training and recreational shooting. A great advantage compared to previous and competing models is the improved quick-activation system, the removable magazine and the larger .68 cal caliber.

Ammunition and magazine
The Impax P68 model, like all RAM pistols, is designed for shooting rubber, pepper or marking balls in .68 caliber and cannot use non-spherical Precision or Devastator projectiles (there is a risk of jamming in the magazine and the weapon getting stuck). The metal magazine has a capacity of 6 rounds, and for convenient loading of the balls, the feeder spring can be pulled down and locked.
Modernized rapid activation system
The pistol is powered by one 12 g CO₂ cartridge, which this time is not inserted into the grip, but into the slot under the barrel. This is also where the new quick-activation system called Response Ready Trigger (RRT) is connected. To pierce the cartridge you no longer need to push the valve from the bottom of the grip, you simply pull the trigger. The first pull of the trigger presses the internal valve onto the neck of the cartridge, thereby activating the cartridge and the pistol immediately fires.
For the proper functioning of the RRT system, the manufacturer has applied another innovation here in the form of STS technology (Set Torque Seal). For optimal tightening of the cartridge, it is necessary to maintain the correct torque – therefore the special threaded cartridge cap starts to slip once the correct torque is reached. To tighten the cap you need a triangular bit – exactly that is located on the back side of the magazine of the pistol so you do not have to look for any special tools.

Given the emphasis on the fastest possible readiness to fire, the pistol does not contain any manual safety. The only safety is located in the trigger and allows the shot only when the weapon is held correctly. The trigger cannot be pressed without the magazine inserted.
Construction and ergonomics
As is customary with T4E products, the external construction of the pistol is made of high-quality polymer, thanks to which the pistol, despite its larger dimensions, maintains a relatively low weight of 800 grams. The internal mechanisms are of course metal, as is the smooth, blued barrel with a length of 125 mm.
The magazine release can be found on both sides, and on the solid, non-moving slide there are fixed fiber-optic sights. Under the barrel there is a 4-slot Picatinny rail allowing the installation of a laser or flashlight. The entire grip is textured to ensure a secure hold.

Everything you need
The Impax P68 model is supplied with everything you need to start shooting. In addition to the pistol, the package includes 3 pcs of 12 g CO₂ cartridges, 6 pcs of T4E Practice RUB rubber balls, 6 pcs of T4E Practice PLB polymer balls and 6 pcs of T4E Chalkballs CKB marking balls. All of this comes in a foam-lined case with a zip closure and a carry strap.
Maintenance
Since the gun is powered by CO2 cartridges, the sealing rings can become brittle and crack when exposed to the freezing carbon dioxide over time. This can be prevented by occasional application of silicone oil 1) by a spray bottle, where you simply coat the internal mechanism, 2) by applying a few drops of silicone oil to the nozzle of the inserted cartridge 3) by using an oil cartridge (easiest). It’s also not recommended to leave the activated cartridge in the gun for longer than necessary. If you know you won't be shooting for a while, release the pressure by loosening the valve.
