Duke Plus Irritant Projectiles are round .68-calibre irritant projectiles intended for self-defence use. Each projectile weighs 3.2–3.4 g and combines the kinetic impact effect with the subsequent action of an irritant powder charge.
Thanks to their simple round shape, they can be used in all CO2 and air-powered guns of the corresponding .68 calibre.
5% PAVA content
The main active ingredient is 5% PAVA, i.e. pelargonic acid vanillylamide, also known as nonivamide. It is a capsaicinoid with pronounced irritant effects, particularly on the eyes, respiratory tract and skin.
Upon impact, the projectile breaks apart and releases its powder charge around the point of impact. PAVA then complements the projectile’s kinetic effect with an intense irritant action. The remaining part of the charge consists of an inert filler.
Kinetic and irritant effect
The 3.2–3.4 g weight provides the projectile with its own mechanical impact effect, while the released irritant charge creates the second component of its action. The projectile is therefore intended primarily for situations where a combination of physical impact and irritant-agent effect is required.
