Chronograph FX True Ballistic

The Swedish company FX Airguns is not only focused on manufacturing top-class air rifles. Their goal is to innovate everything related to shooting to the highest possible level.

This time they present a precise, reliable, and easily portable chronograph, the FX True Ballistic.

It does not require any additional mounts, trigger mechanisms, or external power source. Everything you need is contained in its durable and lightweight construction.

And what makes this radar so exceptional? It can detect muzzle velocity in the range of 400 to 4000 fps / 122 – 1220 m/s, which is more than sufficient even for the most demanding shooters. In addition, you don’t have to set anything up – just switch it on and point it towards the target. It takes care of the rest by itself. Unlike other chronographs, it detects projectile velocity at several predefined distances from 0 to 300 yards (274.32 metres), which also allows it to calculate the ballistic coefficient. The icing on the cake is the calculation of the projectile trajectory.

The clear LCD display shows all essential information on three different screens. On the first one you will of course see the measured muzzle velocity – together with four additional readings taken at predefined distances. The second screen is supplemented by a second user profile, so you can see, for example, fps and m/s values side by side. The third screen shows all additional values recorded during the entire “shooting session”, such as the total number of shots, the highest, average, and lowest measured projectile velocity, their spread, ballistic coefficient, and more.

You can also set preferred units:

• primary units: fps, m/s, J, ft/lbs
• weight: grams, grains
• distance: metres, yards

Some functions, such as measuring the ballistic coefficient or projectile trajectory, require a connection to the FX Radar mobile app – since it is also necessary to know the current weather conditions, such as humidity and air temperature. Thanks to this, the chronograph will even tell you how to dial your scope so you can hit the target precisely.

For transporting the radar, there is a well-made padded case with the FX logo, and if you prefer to mount the chronograph on a tripod, you will certainly appreciate the internal 1/4-20 UNC thread.
