Acoustic defence grenade Duke Sonic Boom Tripwire Kit

Duke Sonic Boom Tripwire Kit is an acoustic defensive grenade with Tripwire activation, which produces an intense sound effect of approximately 158 dB after activation. The system uses a cord-operated trigger mechanism and operates with an approximately 1-second delay after activation.

Intense acoustic effect

Sonic Boom contains no irritant or pyrotechnic charge. Its effect is purely acoustic and is created by the mechanical bursting of the plastic container after pressurisation.

The result is a pronounced sound effect of approximately 158 dB, intended for deterrence, warning or signalling when a protected area is breached.

Tripwire activation

The Tripwire version allows the system to be activated using a trigger cord. The kit includes a 4m cord and trigger components required for the Tripwire mechanism.

This version is intended primarily for situations where the system is to respond to a breach of a protected area without requiring direct activation by the user.

Activation principle

The system uses one 12g CO2 cartridge. Once the trigger mechanism is activated, the cartridge is pierced and compressed carbon dioxide (CO2) begins to be released into the grenade's plastic container. Pressure gradually builds up inside until the container reaches a critical level and bursts violently.

It is this bursting of the container that creates the intense acoustic effect. The mechanism therefore uses CO2 pressure without a pyrotechnic charge.

Reusable system

Sonic Boom Tripwire is designed with a reusable internal core. After activation, the system can be prepared again using the appropriate Sonic Boom Refill Kit, which contains a new plastic container and other consumable components needed for reassembly.

The 12g CO2 cartridge is not included in the package and must be purchased separately.
