It is an excellent tool for self-defence, training and recreational shooting.
The gun consists of a durable polymer frame and steel slide, exactly following the pattern of the live firearm. The appearance, authentic Smith & Wesson markings, ergonomics, weight and also the simulation of the slide function in the form of the blowback system also bring it closer to a real firearm, partly in its behaviour as well. It shares the same layout of controls as the live version. It is powered by a 12 g CO2 cartridge, which is inserted directly into the metal magazine. The magazine capacity is 8 rounds in the form of rubber or pepper balls cal .43.
Guns from the T4E (Training for Engagement) series by the German giant Umarex are an effective means of self-defence. This is evidenced by the fact that they are used by many armed forces and professionals for training. My parents ordered this RAM pistol for their house deep in the woods where wild
dogs, wolves, etc. often roam around their property and they didn't want to
solve this with a real firearm. After initial testing, I have to say that
I was very surprised by the concept of RAM guns. I was expecting a more
powerful airsoft gun, but this is really strong. Given the short barrel and the
not-so-perfectly round projectiles, I wasn't expecting any great accuracy. But
at 15 yards you can hit a 20×15 cm target without any problems. I think it'll
be enough to fend off a shady citizen too. For carry and possible self-defense,
though, I definitely recommend buying a quick-piercing magazine, even though
it's quite expensive. I kind of miss the classic pistol safety. After the
magazine is fired, the slide stays locked in the rear position.
