The Reximex Daystar model does not feature a regulator from production, which means that the muzzle velocity is dependent on the current pressure in the cartridge. When the cartridge is full, the muzzle velocity is higher and decreases during shooting together with the decreasing pressure. This results in inconsistent performance and poorer accuracy.
With a consistent output pressure - and thus more efficient use of air - the regulator guarantees a higher number of shots per fill and better accuracy due to consistent muzzle velocity. At the same time, with a freshly filled cartridge, it reduces the noise of the shot, as without the regulator the air rifle uses much more air when full.
