The Reximex Daystar model does not come with a regulator from the factory, which means that the muzzle velocity depends on the current pressure in the air cylinder. With a full cylinder, the muzzle velocity is higher and decreases during shooting together with the dropping pressure. The result is inconsistent performance and poorer accuracy.
Thanks to the consistent output pressure – and thus more efficient use of air – the regulator guarantees a higher shot count per fill and better accuracy due to a constant muzzle velocity. At the same time, with a freshly filled cylinder it reduces the shot noise, since without a regulator the air rifle releases much more air after filling.
