The V-shaped guide groove made of carbide stones is used for sharpening knives with a steel blade. On the other side of the sharpener body there is a flat carbide stone for sharpening scissors or other small hand tools. The distinctive orange colouring makes it easier to find the sharpener if it falls to the ground in overgrown terrain.
When sharpening a knife, move the groove along the blade – from the heel to the tip. Use the same method for scissors.
