Pepper defense device Duke Pepper Storm Tripwire Kit

Duke Pepper Storm Tripwire Kit is a pepper-based self-defence device with Tripwire activation that combines an intense acoustic effect with the dispersal of an irritant powder charge. Compared to the manually activated version, it uses a cord-operated triggering mechanism and operates with an approximately 1-second delay after activation. It then produces an acoustic signal with a volume of approximately 158 dB while simultaneously dispersing the irritant substance into the surrounding area.

35 g irritant charge

Inside the container is a 35 g powder charge containing 5% active capsaicinoids from OC with 96% purity. These capsaicinoids are responsible for a strong irritant effect, particularly on the eyes, respiratory tract and skin.

After activation, the powder is dispersed within a 360° radius of approximately 5 metres from the point of activation. The resulting effect therefore combines the creation of an irritant cloud with a powerful acoustic signal.

Tripwire activation

The Tripwire version enables system activation using a trigger cord. The kit includes a 4 m cord and triggering components required for the Tripwire mechanism.

This version is intended primarily for situations where the system must respond to an intrusion into a protected area without requiring direct activation by the user.

Activation principle

The system uses one 12 g CO2 cartridge. After activating the triggering mechanism, the cartridge is pierced and compressed carbon dioxide (CO2) begins to be released inside the plastic container of the self-defence device. Pressure gradually builds up inside until the container reaches a critical level and bursts violently.

This rupture of the container creates an intense acoustic effect and simultaneously disperses the contained irritant powder into the surrounding area. The mechanism therefore uses CO2 pressure alone, without a pyrotechnic charge.

Reusable system

Pepper Storm Tripwire is designed with a reusable inner core. After activation, the system can be prepared again using the appropriate Pepper Storm Refill Kit.

The 12 g CO2 cartridge is not included in the package and must be purchased separately.

CO2 cartridge installation procedure

When installing the CO2 cartridge, proceed with extreme caution. To insert it, the metal capsule must be unscrewed, which also opens the container containing the irritant powder.

We therefore recommend handling it outdoors or in a well-ventilated area and using protective gloves, eye protection and respiratory protection. Spilling or inhaling the irritant charge must be prevented.
