Opinel 7 Inox in green is a representative of a pocket outdoor knife fitted with a blade made of stainless steel Sandvik 12C27M, a Virobloc lock and a wooden handle with a lanyard.
The blade itself measures 80 mm and is made of modified stainless steel Sandvik 12C27M hardened to a hardness of 57-58 HRC. Thanks to the addition of chromium, it is incredibly resistant to corrosion, so it does not require any special care. The blade is opened with two hands using a special nail nick.
The edge runs smoothly from the Jatagan-type tip all the way to the heel and is executed with a convex grind. The sides are convex, which makes cutting faster and more efficient.
The hornbeam handle is effectively protected against dirt and moisture by a layer of green lacquer. In the rear part of the handle there is a lanyard hole with a strap.
The blade is secured by the Virobloc lock, i.e. a metal ring that needs to be rotated, which in effect immobilises it.
