At first glance, it may resemble a real sniper rifle thanks to the unique placement of the air cartridge. It is not located under the barrel as with most air rifles, but instead surrounds the entire barrel.
A major innovation compared to the original single-shot version is the option to install a 2-shot or 5-shot magazine, which is compatible only with Altaros ATP King slugs. An alternative is the supplied single-shot adapter compatible with any ammunition of the given calibre.
The exceptionally accurate 600 mm barrel from Lothar Walther is equipped with polygonal rifling with a twist rate of 1:17.7 (the projectile makes one rotation over a distance of 450 mm) and features a standard 1/2 UNF thread at the muzzle for mounting a sound moderator.
On the underside of the fore-end there are two pressure gauges – one for the pressure in the cartridge, the other for the externally adjustable regulator. The modernised Picatinny rail can be inclined by up to 30 MRAD / 100 MOA for easier scope setup at extreme distances.
This model is factory set to 100 J (regulator set to 170 bar); below you will find an indicative table of results for different regulator settings and ammunition used with the cartridge filled to 300 bar.

Fun fact: The original version of the Altaros M24 air rifle, with modified power and using a tuned barrel, managed in 2019 to hit a target measuring 56x46 cm at 1280 metres and thus held the world record until 2023. That year it surpassed itself by hitting a target of the same size at a distance of 1609 metres (1 mile).
