The collar emits an acoustic signal and you can use the light signal to locate your dog in the dark. Unlike most d-control collars, model 1642 does not emit electric stimulation impulses but vibrations. In open terrain the collar has a range of up to 1.6 km. It is supplied with a plastic transport case.
The collar offers several different modes: 8 light modes and 5 different types of vibrations. The light modes are not intended for giving commands. Such signalling would be too demanding for the dog. Dogs sensitive to electric impulses or deaf dogs are given the opportunity of another training aid. By using different types of vibrations you can teach your dog the correct commands.
The collar will significantly ease training and you can not only teach your dog, but also eliminate bad habits. It is recommended for use only for basic training. The manufacturer does not recommend vibrations for correcting unwanted behaviour, as in most cases they are not sufficient. The dog can easily and quickly learn to walk to heel without a leash, come when called and, if you have a responsive dog, even interrupt unwanted activities.
The collar is also waterproof, so you don’t have to worry if your dog jumps into the water. Handling is very simple. The collar has a black and red adjustable woven strap 75 cm long, on which the receiver is placed. The receiver also emits an acoustic signal, light and vibrations. The receiver weighs only 55 g and is powered by a single CR2 3V battery.
The control is also very simple. The transmitter is equipped with 8 buttons, one for switching on and off, one for emitting an acoustic signal, one for sending vibrations, one for the light function and others for selecting the vibration and light levels. With buttons 1 and 2 you can switch between two different dogs. One transmitter therefore controls two different collars. The transmitter weighs only 88 g and is powered by two AA batteries. Battery life can reach up to 1 year depending on how frequently the collar is used.
