PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Introducing one of the most advanced airguns in the world from the British manufacturer Daystate, which in recent years has been focusing on the development of high-end airguns enhanced with electronics and the highest quality components.

Indeed, it was the Daystate company that created the first modern PCP airgun ever in the 1970s, so you can safely bet on the quality and functionality of their products.

Decades of experience have resulted in the PCP airgun Daystate Alpha Wolf, which immediately draws attention with its gorgeous, beautifully shaped laminate stock in red and black finish. Unlike other manufacturers' laminate stocks, its surface is almost mirror-gloss. The grip area is roughened to provide a firmer grasp.

However, the most important feature of this model is the ever-present electronics. On the touchscreen display, you can adjust the total power output of the airgun, regulator pressure, barrel caliber and length, weight (grains) of the used ammo, desired projectile velocity, hammer pulse time in microseconds, and much more. All settings can be saved into user profiles so you can create preset for multiple purposes.

All electronics are powered by a LiPo battery housed under the buttstock, which can last for hundreds to thousands of shots. Charging is done via a USB-C slot located in the stock close to the touchscreen, for which a USB-C to USB-C cable is included. Power can be saved by the display's auto shut-off feature, whose timer can be set from 30 seconds to 90 minutes.

If all that is still not convincing enough, then the built-in chronograph at the end of the barrel will certainly be a welcome addition. Therefore, the airgun will inform you of the exact projectile velocity at all times.

The precise 600mm barrel is protected by a tensioned carbon shroud, which not only reinforces the barrel but also reduces oscillations when firing. At the end of the barrel, there is a standard 1/2UNF noise moderator thread.

Consistent shooting results are also enhanced by one of the highest quality pressure regulators from Huma-Air, located right above the 480cc cartridge linkage. It is, of course, externally adjustable.

To mount a riflescope, the airgun is equipped with a slidable elevated Picatinny rail canted forward/downward, allowing easier scope adjustment for long range shooting. There is also a bubble level on the raised base so you will always be sure that the riflescope is vertically aligned with the barrel. The sliding base is mounted on a conventional 11mm rail, so if you have a sufficiently high 11mm riflescope mount, you can use that one as well. There are 4 more Picatinny rails on the sides of the barrel, at the bottom of the forearm and at the bottom of the stock below the display.

Just like the manual safety, even the magazine is ambidextrous. The engineers at Daystate have even come up with the option to join two magazines using magnets, doubling the shot capacity. After emptying the first one, just slide them slightly to the side and you can keep firing.

In fact, the whole airgun is adapted to both right and left-handed shooters. The charging lever and the adjustable cheekpiece can be switched to the other side in just a moment. All adjustments to the airgun can be made using a regular set of Allen wrenches, of which the two smallest ones for adjusting the trigger and eventually removing the touchscreen are included in the package.

Our opinion: The Alpha Wolf is perhaps the highest-tier airgun we've seen so far. All materials are of very high quality. All the moving parts (charging lever, trigger, safety) have incredibly smooth travel, the airgun can fully adapt to left-handed users, and it offers a bunch of subtle but useful gadgets - for example, we were impressed by the bubble level within the Picatinny rail base, or the easily accessible yet cleverly hidden USB-C charging slot. However, the most striking element of the airgun is definitely the glossy laminate stock, which we're confident to say is truly a work of art.

Note 1: The 2022 version features an older valve. More information about the updated "Ultra Firing Valve" can be found on the official Daystate website.

Note 2: The manufacturer keeps releasing software updates for this air rifle. This requires the use of a DTD adapter (not compatible with macOS). However, the air rifle works with older software without any problems.
