It is actually neither a machete, nor a knife, nor a sword. It is a feared warrior’s weapon. The Kukri is still an essential part of the equipment of Gurkhas in the ranks of the elite SAS and it strikes incredible fear into their enemies. It is also an excellent working tool designed for chopping.
The blade is made of 1055 carbon steel. The balance point is set closer to the tip of the machete, which is typical for a Kukri. The blade’s special sharpening was created for an extremely deep cut with every strike. The plastic handle fits comfortably in the hand and is almost indestructible. There is a hole at the end for possible lanyard attachment. The blade length is an impressive 43.1 cm.
The machete is supplied in a practical protective Cor-Ex sheath with a belt loop.
