The Black Bunker company could already be seen at the IWA2023 trade fair, where they first introduced a revolutionary break‑barrel air rifle with a folding mechanism.
However, the BM8 model does not stop there – it was specifically created for survival purposes in a harsh environment. It starts with the use of the classic break‑barrel loading system, just like we know from old Slavia air rifles. Instead of a traditional spring, however, it features an advanced gas RAM piston, which guarantees high power while reducing vibrations and recoil when firing.

The air rifle therefore does not require any additional accessories such as expensive PCP compressors or supplies of disposable CO2 cartridges. Likewise, the manufacturer avoided using a magazine system as we know it for example from modern Gamo air rifles, in order to achieve maximum reliability. Last but not least, the air rifle is almost entirely covered with a durable polymer, again with regard to easy maintenance and better protection of key components. The emphasis on survival purposes is therefore evident.

As standard, the air rifle is equipped with iron sights mounted on the barrel. For mounting a riflescope there is a standard 22mm Weaver / Picatinny rail, and if you want to upgrade the air rifle with a laser, flashlight or bipod, another two detachable rails are located on the sides of the fore‑end.

The BM8 model is divided into 3 moving parts – a classic break barrel, the main block and a folding stock. After loosening one rotary safety near the barrel and a second push‑button safety above the stock, both parts are released and can then be folded into a triangular shape. The rail that originally serves to compress the piston when breaking the barrel now acts as a safety in the folded position, where it engages into a slot hidden in the stock.

The package also includes a practical waterproof case for small accessories or ammunition, which fits perfectly into the folded air rifle, and a cap protecting the muzzle and the breech from dirt.
We always like to see airgun manufacturers trying to come up with something new, original and innovative. And the BM8 air rifle is exactly such a case. The folding mechanism is cleverly engineered, nothing rattles or wobbles and the air rifle as a whole feels robust. In short, it is a fully fledged (and powerful) break‑barrel with several extra upgrades.

Absolutely awesome toy for precision shooting and cans. When I fold it up, it
fits in my backpack, throw it on my back and go shooting. Without a rifle scope,
standing unsupported, I'm shooting at 20m on a 17×17 target and staying in
the black.

The air rifle kicks a bit, you have to get used to the spring system – unlike
CO2 guns or older Slavia air rifles. At first I couldn't hit the cans, but on
examination they all hit and didn't even budge unlike the Slavia 634. The front
hole was a clean hole as drilled, the back had already torn a bit. Hunter
0.47 g ammo , range approx 15m, no optics of any kind. At 25–30m the cans
were falling. Otherwise interesting shape when folded, makes a triangle that you
can carry on your back or shoulder and no one will notice it's a gun, or in a
briefcase.
