PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Extreme EDC is a defensive spray designed to protect against bears and other dangerous wildlife. Its contents consist of a combination of OC, CR and CS irritants, which affect the eyes, mucous membranes and respiratory tract.
Combination of OC, CR and CS active ingredients
Unlike standard pepper sprays containing only OC, Extreme EDC uses a blend of several irritants:
- OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) – a natural extract from chilli peppers containing capsaicinoids, which cause intense burning of the skin and mucous membranes.
- CR (dibenzoxazepine) – a synthetic irritant that primarily affects the eyes, skin and mucous membranes.
- CS (chlorobenzylidene malononitrile) – a tear-inducing agent that causes severe irritation of the eyes and respiratory tract.
The effects of these substances include intense burning, tearing, irritation of the mucous membranes and coughing.
Long-range aerosol discharge
The spray uses an aerosol nozzle, which creates a cloud of irritant. Compared with a narrow stream of liquid, it covers a larger area, making it easier to hit a moving animal without the need for precise aiming.
The stated range varies depending on the spray volume:
- 150 ml – approximately 6–9 metres.
-
300 ml – approximately 8–10 metres.
Safety catch
The nozzle is equipped with a removable orange safety catch, which prevents accidental activation during transport. The safety catch is pulled out before use and can be returned to the locked position after discharge.
