It can automatically send captured photos and videos to the HIKMICRO Sight mobile app, where recordings can be viewed, settings adjusted, device status checked and its location displayed using GPS.
The trail camera has an integrated SIM card, so there is no need to insert your own. Thanks to 4G and multi-roaming support, it automatically connects to supported mobile networks with available signal. The manufacturer states that connectivity is supported in 47 countries.
The SIM card itself does not require a separate subscription. Remote downloading of captured photos and videos via the HIKMICRO Sight app is charged, with data plans and top-up credits available. The current offers and prices can be checked directly in the app.
The T16 model uses a 6 MP sensor and captures photos at a resolution of up to 24 MP. It records video in Full HD 1080p quality including sound. It produces colour images during the day, while operating in black-and-white mode at night.
Night recording is provided by a pair of invisible 940 nm infrared LEDs with SmartIR technology. The illumination emits no visible light, enabling discreet monitoring without unnecessarily disturbing wildlife.
The trail camera allows switching between a 60° field of view and a wide 100° view. The narrower view is suitable for monitoring a specific location or trail, while the wide view is ideal for monitoring a larger open area.
Three PIR sensor sensitivity settings
Advanced algorithms also help reduce false triggers caused, for example, by moving leaves or wind. The trail camera also supports burst shooting of 1, 2 or 3 photos per trigger, time-lapse image capture independent of the PIR sensor, and setting a minimum interval between individual activations.
All recordings are stored in the integrated 64 GB memory, so there is no need to purchase an SD card. Files can be downloaded to a computer via USB-C.
The built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is primarily intended for live preview during installation. This makes it easier to check that the camera is aimed correctly before leaving the trail camera in place. For live preview, the phone connects directly to the trail camera's Wi-Fi hotspot.
The trail camera is powered by four 18650 batteries (not included). In Delay power-saving mode, with approximately 20 photos captured per day, battery life can reach up to 5 months. In Real-Time mode, the manufacturer/seller states approximately 36 to 45 days, depending on the method of use and conditions.
For long-term installation, external DC 12 V / 1 A power supply can also be used, for example in combination with a solar panel.
The durable IP66-rated design allows use in demanding outdoor conditions at temperatures from −20 °C to +55 °C. The trail camera can be attached to a tree using a mounting strap or by means of the standard 1/4″-20 UNC thread. Dimensions are 179.5 × 120.3 × 85 mm and weight is 475 g without batteries.
