It is suitable, for example, for monitoring two forest tracks, a feeding area and an access road, or two separate parts of a property. Both 4G trail cameras operate independently and can be managed from a single account in the HIKMICRO Sight mobile app.
Captured photos and videos can be automatically sent to the app, where recordings can be viewed, settings adjusted, the status of individual devices checked and their location displayed using GPS.
Each trail camera has its own integrated SIM card, so there is no need to insert your own. Thanks to support for 4G and multi-roaming, it automatically connects to supported mobile networks with an available signal.
The SIM cards do not need to be prepaid separately. Remote downloading of captured photos and videos via the HIKMICRO Sight app is charged, with data plans and top-up credits available for this purpose. Both trail cameras can be managed under one user account, and the data plan can be shared between devices.
Each T16 trail camera uses a 6 MP sensor and captures photos at a resolution of up to 24 MP. It records video in Full HD 1080p quality including sound. During the day, it produces a colour image, while at night it operates in black-and-white mode.
Night recording is provided by a pair of invisible infrared LEDs with a wavelength of 940 nm and SmartIR technology. The illumination emits no visible light and enables discreet monitoring without unnecessarily disturbing wildlife.
Both trail cameras allow independent switching between a 60° field of view and a wide 100° view. One camera can therefore be set up, for example, for a narrower forest track and the other for a larger open area.
Advanced algorithms also help reduce false triggers caused, for example, by moving vegetation or wind.
Each trail camera has its own integrated 64 GB memory, so there is no need to purchase SD cards. The complete set therefore offers two independent storage units with a capacity of 64 GB. Files can also be downloaded directly to a computer via USB-C.
Built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is primarily used for live preview during installation. This makes it easier to check the correct aiming of each trail camera before leaving it in place.
Thanks to two separate cameras, it is possible to monitor two different locations simultaneously, or keep one trail camera as a backup while replacing batteries or maintaining the other device.
Each trail camera is powered by four 18650 batteries, so powering the complete set requires a total of 8 18650 batteries. Batteries are not included.
In Delay power-saving mode, the battery life of one trail camera can reach up to 5 months when capturing approximately 20 photos per day. In Real Time mode, the stated battery life is approximately 36 to 45 days, depending on usage and conditions.
For long-term installation, each trail camera can also be connected to an external DC 12 V / 1 A power supply, for example in combination with a solar panel.
The durable design with IP66 protection allows use in demanding outdoor conditions at temperatures from −20 °C to +55 °C. Each trail camera can be attached to a tree using a mounting strap or via the standard 1/4″-20 UNC thread.
The dimensions of one trail camera are 179.5 × 120.3 × 85 mm and its weight is 475 g without batteries.
