Vector Optics Tauron 6-24x50 HD MOA FFP is a modern high-magnification riflescope designed especially for the PRS shooting discipline. It offers a combination of 6–24× variable magnification and a 50 mm objective lens, allowing for precise aiming even in poorer light conditions.
Optical system
The riflescope uses 6–24× variable magnification, which covers shooting from medium to longer distances. The 50 mm objective lens brings in plenty of light, so the image remains readable even in low-light conditions. The manufacturer once again relies on the proven LaREE HD lens system with FMC (Fully-Multi Coated) anti-reflective coating, ensuring a consistently bright and sharp image.
Reticle
This model uses the VTA-4 reticle designed for the PRS (Precision Rifle Series) shooting discipline, placed in the first focal plane (FFP), so the reticle’s measuring elements remain valid across the entire magnification range. This is an advantage for shooters who work with holdovers for distance or apply elevation and windage corrections directly using the reticle. The reticle is graduated in MOA units, which facilitates consistency between the reticle and the adjustment turrets when transferring corrections.
The center of the reticle is equipped with red illumination with 6 intensity levels, powered by a single CR2032 battery (not included).
Adjustment and parallax
The riflescope features exposed turrets with adjustment steps of 1/4 MOA. The turrets are equipped with Turret Lock (you need to pull the turret up to rotate it) and Zero Stop (easy return to a preselected zero). Parallax is adjustable from 10 yards to infinity.
There is also diopter adjustment in the range of ±2D, allowing the shooter to fine-tune the reticle sharpness according to their eyesight without the need for glasses or contact lenses.
Construction and durability
The riflescope body is made from a single piece of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and uses a larger 34 mm tube. The matte finish reduces unwanted reflections and is resistant to normal mechanical wear when used in the field.
The internal space is nitrogen-filled, which prevents the optics from fogging during rapid changes in temperature and humidity. The riflescope has an IP67 rating, so it can withstand rain and humid environments.
This model is capable of withstanding 1000 G (unit of gravitational acceleration), which is equivalent to the recoil of firearms chambered in .300, .308, and .338.
