The most important component of any riflescope is of course the optical system, and the manufacturer Vector Optics knows this very well. That is why the Continental x8 1-8x24 SFP Tactical VEC-T8M MRAD model offers a truly top-class system of LaREE and VePRO lenses with FMC coating, which transmits up to an impressive 93% of light. Thanks to this, the riflescope is suitable for use even in poor visibility conditions.
This model is equipped with an etched VEC-T8M reticle in the second focal plane (the reticle does not increase in size as magnification changes) with a total of 6 brightness levels, powered by a CR2032 battery (not included).
Elevation and windage adjustment is given in milliradians MRAD (also referred to as MIL), where 1 click = 0.1 MRAD. Parallax adjustment is fixed at 100 yards. Rotation of the adjustment turrets is accompanied by a quiet click, allowing you to adjust the riflescope more easily without having to take your eyes off the target.
All components are protected by a rugged body with IP67 rating made from aircraft-grade aluminium 6061 T6, enabling the riflescope to withstand recoil of up to 750G. The one-piece forged tube has a diameter of 30mm and, to prevent the lenses from fogging due to sudden temperature changes, the riflescope is filled with nitrogen.
This model is able to withstand 750 g (unit of gravitational acceleration), which is equivalent to the recoil of firearms chambered in .223 and .308.
