The Vector Optics Continental 2-12x44 CTR riflescope offers variable 2–12x magnification, a 44 mm objective lens and a first focal plane (FFP) reticle with milradian graduations. The optical system consists of LaREE HD lenses with VePRO FMC anti-reflective coating. The aluminium IP67 construction withstands recoil up to 1000 G, making it suitable for calibres up to the equivalent of .300, .308 and .338.
Optical system
The riflescope provides variable magnification of 2–12x which, in combination with the 44 mm objective lens, covers universal use from short to medium distances. The optical system uses special LaREE HD lenses which, together with the VePRO Fully Multi-coated coating, ensure high light transmission of 90% and a clean, bright image across the entire magnification range.
Reticle
The etched VET-CTR 2 reticle is located in the first focal plane (FFP), so its size changes depending on the magnification. This means the measuring elements remain in the correct scale throughout the magnification range, making the reticle usable for holdovers at any magnification setting. The illuminated reticle offers 11 levels of brightness, with Off positions between each step. It is powered by a CR2032 battery (not included).
Mechanical properties
The riflescope uses exposed tactical turrets with 1/10 MIL click value. The elevation turret is equipped with a Zero Stop function that allows a reliable return of the elevation adjustment to a pre-selected zero. Thanks to the Turret Lock function, the turrets can be locked to prevent accidental changes to the settings when handling the firearm or during transport. Parallax adjustment ranges from 10 yards to infinity. Dioptre adjustment in the range of -2 to +2 allows the eyepiece to be adapted to the shooter’s eye without the need to wear glasses.
Construction and durability
The IP67-rated riflescope body is made from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy, and the 34 mm tube is nitrogen-filled, ensuring fog resistance during rapid temperature changes. The 1000 G rating means the riflescope is designed for recoil corresponding to .300, .308 and .338 calibres, making it suitable even for more powerful rifles. This is where the long 100 mm eye relief proves its worth, providing sufficient distance between the eye and the eyepiece.
