TM4 RIS is a weapon powered by a 12g CO2 bomb located in the magazine. During fixation, the CO2 cartridge is impaled on the mandrel and the gun is cocked. Before the first shot the percussion mechanism must be cocked, the rest is taken care of by the movement of the slide. Part of the energy extracted from the cartridge is used to create authentic recoil - BlowBack. The manufacturer states that one bomb is enough for approximately 40 shots, which is less than three magazines. The energy can rise to 7.5 J and the muzzle velocity approaches 125 m/s - accurate shooting is thus possible within about 25 meters.
The magazine holds 14 rounds of Rubber Ball caliber .43 (10.9mm) ammunition. This ammunition is sold in several variants.
The authenticity of the replica is paramount in the TM4 RIS, so the rifle - like the sharp AR-15 prototype - is available with Full-Auto mode. If you get tired of automatic fire, just move the lever located on the left above the trigger to the Semi position. The same lever then secures the rifle against accidental shots - just turn it to the Safe position.
The design is again close to the original. The body, barrel, stock magazine and internal mechanism elements are made of metal. This metal body is wrapped in a coat of durable polymer, which is also used to make the grip and foregrip. The weight is only 2.7 kg (2770 g). However, the design is very durable and can withstand even heavier conditions during tactical exercises.
In the factory setup, the weapon comes with a vertically and horizontally adjustable sight and a variable extendable stock.
The rifle has several 22mm Picatinny rails (three are under the polymer forearm, which is removable) to which various accessories can be attached. You can equip the RAM submachine gun with a laser, flashlight and collimator - the possibilities are extremely diverse.
The trigger mechanism is of the Single Action type - just one press and the weapon fires immediately. The trigger also has a very smooth action.
