I wouldn't recommend considering it a piece of target-shooting equipment; its accuracy and consistency are clearly lacking. However, it’s perfectly fine for just having fun shooting at cans or little monster targets. That said, it’s no match for the Weihrauch 40 or Beeman 17—let alone the Weihrauch 75.

This is not a sports publication—it is for entertainment only. If you already own a 6mm GBB pistol—like a Marui Glock—there is no point in buying this Artemis. The accuracy will be the same, but you’ll get far more enjoyment, accuracy, and range out of a gas-powered Glock. Plus, using a quality 6mm pistol will be cheaper in terms of ammo costs.

Would I buy it a second time? Probably yes—I’m handy with tools. I’ve done custom work on plenty of airguns and firearms, so as a project piece for applying one's skills and know-how, this Artemis 400 is a decent option. But as a pistol to take straight out of the box and start training with? Unfortunately, no.

  • It is quite comfortable to pump—significantly easier than the Weihrauch 40 and Beeman 17.
  • It feels more compact and solid in the hand. It gives the impression of being a single, cohesive unit rather than a jumble of loosely assembled, rattling parts.
  • The sound is very quiet—it’s perfectly fine for shooting at home at a distance of 7–8 meters.
  • It’s funny, but bullets can be reused—provided you have a soft bullet trap. Many bullets hardly deform at all.
  • It handles light (0.47g), medium (0.51g), and heavier (0.67g) pellets equally well. Shooting with the heavier pellets feels slightly more satisfying—there is a sensation of slight muzzle flip, giving the impression that the pistol isn't just making a quiet click but is actually firing.
  • It’s very convenient to take along for shooting outdoors. However, keep in mind that the bullets are made of lead and aren't exactly eco-friendly.
  • The weight is comfortable for a woman or a teenager.
  • The overall build quality is quite neat.
  • The trigger button pinches your finger at both the top and the bottom. Compression is inconsistent, and lubrication doesn't help; as a result, the muzzle velocity fluctuates by as much as 15 meters per second.
  • The accuracy is on par with BB pistols.
  • The trigger pull is terrible. Worse than on cheap 6mm toy pistols.
  • The front sight is 3.8 mm thick!!! What genius made the rear sight notch 2.8 mm wide while the front sight is 3.8 mm? I had to file the sides of the front sight down to 2.5 mm and then paint it with matte gun enamel. Now, at least, the front sight is actually visible inside the rear sight notch.
  • Lubricating it is extremely inconvenient, as it is more difficult to disassemble than the Beeman 17 and Weihrauch 40.
  • It is simply impossible to use without filing down the front sight, shimming the barrel, or performing complex, constant lubrication to maintain compression.

It’s quite a big gun, great fun for the garden, no filling needed, you just need pellets and you shoot, accuracy is fine. You can shoot at 5 m, costs around 50 CZK.

I have a similar one from Gamo and Beeman, but I fell in love with this one.

  • Affordable price, nice appearance, accurate thanks to the fluted barrel and fine trigger.
