Replica Rifle Winchester Mare's Leg, USA 1892

The decorative replica of the shortened Winchester Mare's Leg, USA 1892 repeating rifle by Denix features a shortened barrel and stock, along with a distinctive lower cocking lever with a large loop. Its construction combines metal parts with a wooden stock and fore-end.

The barrel and metal fittings have an antique silver finish. The stock and fore-end are brown, with visible wood grain.

The movable lever-action mechanism allows simulated cycling of the action. The replica can be cocked, and pulling the trigger makes the mechanism click without firing a shot.

The historical original was created by modifying a Winchester Model 1892 rifle, shortening its barrel and stock. The Mare's Leg was made famous by Steve McQueen as Josh Randall in the television series Wanted: Dead or Alive, which aired from 1958–1961. The designation 1892 therefore refers to the original Winchester model, not to when this television adaptation was created.

Warning: This is a decorative replica firearm intended for collecting and display purposes. The replica cannot fire and does not have the mechanisms required to fire a shot. It is not a deactivated firearm – the product was not originally a functional firearm that was subsequently deactivated.
