Historical original

Philadelphia Deringer was a single-shot, muzzle-loading percussion pocket pistol designed by Philadelphia gunsmith Henry Deringer. Pistols of this type were manufactured from 1852 to 1868 and, thanks to their compact dimensions, were often carried as personal weapons. The name Deringer later became the basis for the generic designation of small pocket pistols, derringers.
