Replica Design

The stock is made of wood, while the other structural parts of the replica are metal. The leather sling is adjustable and forms part of the carbine's design.

The replica features a movable bolt and simulated loading and firing mechanisms. When the mechanism is cocked and the trigger is pressed, a clicking sound is heard; however, the replica is not capable of firing.

Historical Original

Karabiner 98k, abbreviated as Kar98k, was introduced by the German army in 1935 as the successor to designs based on the Gewehr 98. The actual carbine used a cylindrical bolt action and the 7,92 × 57 mm Mauser cartridge; during the Second World War, it was standard equipment for German units. It was manufactured until 1945 and continued to appear in the armament of various armies after the war.
