Replica construction

The stock is made of wood, while the other structural components are metal. The replica retains the characteristic configuration without a fore-end, with an octagonal barrel and the tubular section of the magazine running beneath it.

Historical original

Henry Rifle was designed by Benjamin Tyler Henry; he received a patent for its design in 1860. The original rifles were manufactured by New Haven Arms Company between 1860 and 1866 and used the .44 rimfire cartridge. These were lever-action repeating rifles with a tubular magazine beneath the barrel; during the American Civil War, they were used especially by Union soldiers, often as privately purchased weapons. The design became the predecessor of the Winchester Model 1866 rifle.
