Replica French Flintlock Rifle with Bayonet, 1806

Decorative replica of a long French military musket from the Napoleonic period. It combines a wooden stock and fore-end with metal parts, including the barrel, flintlock mechanism and bayonet. It is intended for collecting and decorative use.

Replica design

The stock and fore-end are made of wood, while the mechanism, barrel, fittings and bayonet are metal. A fixed ramrod is located beneath the barrel and is not intended to be removed.

The replica features a movable mechanism simulating loading and firing. The mechanism can be cocked and produces a mechanical click when the trigger is pressed. It includes a separate removable bayonet, supplied separately in the box.

Historical original

French Mle 1777/An IX flintlock muskets were among the principal long arms of the French army during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The original model was introduced in 1777 and underwent modifications at the beginning of the 19th century, known as An IX. The historical weapons were smoothbore, muzzle-loading firearms with a flintlock and used a socket bayonet for close combat.
