Pulse Metal Detector Nokta MAGNETAR 9000

Nokta MAGNETAR 9000 is a pulse induction metal detector designed for finding natural gold, from small nuggets to larger, deeper targets. It is designed for use in highly mineralised soil and uses search coils with two receive windings.

Detection technology and search modes

At its core are advanced pulse induction and DRC technology. The waterproof MG37-DRC and MG29-DRC coils measure 37 cm × 34 cm and 29 cm × 21 cm.

• Maximum: a mode focused on small gold, also sensitive to medium-sized targets at moderate depths.
• Standard: a versatile mode for gold of various sizes.
• Deep: a mode for larger, deep targets; it may be less effective at detecting small gold.

Ground adjustment and interference suppression

Three ground settings are available for different levels of mineralisation. The strongest filtering for extremely mineralised ground works only in Maximum mode and may reduce detection depth.

Ground balancing offers automatic, semi-automatic and manual settings. Calibration uses a ferrite ring. Electromagnetic interference can be suppressed by automatically or manually selecting from 256 channels; sensitivity is adjustable across 20 levels.

Controls and audio response

The simplified menu uses preset values, while the advanced menu provides access to detailed settings. A user profile allows you to save and reload your preferred configuration.

You can adjust the threshold volume and pitch as well as the maximum target response volume. The audio filter smooths out fluctuations caused by the ground, but may reduce sensitivity to small targets. The stabiliser helps in saline soil, although it may reduce detection range.

Audio is provided through a built-in speaker, Bluetooth or wired headphones with a 6,3 mm connection. Wireless connectivity does not work underwater, and the Bluetooth headphones are not waterproof.

Construction and power supply

The detector has an IP68 rating and is submersible to 3 m. The telescopic carbon-fibre shaft can be collapsed to 72 cm and extended to 150 cm. Weight including the battery is 2,4 kg with the smaller coil and 2,8 kg with the larger one.

The colour LCD display and buttons are backlit. Additional features include a torch, optional audio and vibration feedback for the buttons, and firmware updates via USB.

The replaceable 7,2 V Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 48 Wh provides up to 10 hours of operation, depending on settings and use. It can be charged from the mains, a vehicle power socket or directly from a car battery.
