Mikov

England has Sheffield, Germany has Solingen, and the Czech Republic has Mikulášovice. This border town located in the Šluknov Hook is the centre of knife-making in our country. In 1794, Ignaz Rösler opened a knife factory here. It survived both world wars as well as nationalisation.

In Mikulášovice, full production is still carried out and hunting, fishing, military, sports, pocket, butcher’s, kitchen and special knives are made there. Each one is different. But they are all united by honest craftsmanship.

What made Mikov a household name? The pocket knife Rybička. This small knife has found its way into the hearts of most Czechoslovak boys and is a legend that today appears in shop windows alongside luxury knives. Perhaps because it embodies the greatest childhood wish: the desire for adventure.
