Compared to its predecessor, this model has a redesigned more robust construction, more convenient positioning of the control buttons and a new custom-made Li-ion battery with a capacity of 4400mAh, which allows it to operate for up to 6.5 hours. The software has also been upgraded – the user interface has been completely redesigned to be much more user-friendly and easier to operate.
Furthermore, the TQ50 2.0 model is equipped with a 12μm thermal core with a resolution of 640x512px and sensitivity of <20mK (it can distinguish temperature differences smaller than 0.020°C) and a lens with a diameter of 50mm, which allows it to detect a target at a distance of up to 2600m. The resulting image is displayed on a 1024x768px OLED display with a smooth refresh rate of 50Hz.
You can switch between 4 colour palettes (black hot, white hot, red hot and fusion), adjust overall brightness and image temperature, and photos or videos with audio can be stored on the built-in 16GB storage or in the Hikmicro Sight mobile app. In addition, this device can be used on up to 5 different weapons without the need for repeated zeroing thanks to five user profiles.
As is already standard with Hikmicro products, there is also the popular “Recoil-activation Recording” function, which starts saving the recording a few seconds before the shot and continues for a few seconds after the shot.
All this is protected by a compact body made of durable and lightweight magnesium alloy. Thanks to the materials used and the high manufacturing quality, the device is suitable even for firearms with recoil up to 1000g/0.4ms and boasts a protection rating of IP67.
To mount it on a firearm, a separate mount is required. Compatible mounts can be found below in the “Recommended accessories” section.
