PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Machine translated

Swedish air rifles FX DRS have found their place on the global market mainly thanks to their unique design and at the same time – relatively for the FX brand – low purchase price. Now, however, the time has come for something more exclusive for absolute shooting competition fanatics – the uncompromising FX DRS Pro in a premium stock from MDT and with a range of performance upgrades.

MDT Stock

The key feature of the Pro model is clearly the CNC-machined aluminium stock from the Canadian manufacturer MDT, which specialises in producing stocks for competition rifles. In this case, it is a modified ACC Elite chassis, originally designed for the Remington 700 and Tikka T3X. It is characterised by an extended fore-end with an Arca-Swiss rail and M-LOK slots running along its entire length, a rear Premiere Gen 2 buttstock with height- and length-adjustable cheekpiece and length-adjustable buttpad.

The enlarged grip MDT Vertical Grip Elite offers an adjustable angle to suit every shooter, and above the grip there are adjustable metal thumb rests on both sides. The MDT competition stock is designed to achieve maximum accuracy by eliminating any vibrations and flex during the shot, helped also by the supplied brass shims – these serve to fill in minor tolerances in the construction. As the manufacturer itself says, no stock is 100% identical, even with CNC production.

The package also includes self-adhesive panels with a roughened surface for the fore-end and for the areas where you rest your trigger finger.

Slug Power Kit

Another upgrade compared to the standard DRS is the so-called Slug Power Kit, a set of components consisting of a new loading probe and a heavy tungsten hammer, which ensures a longer valve opening time and greater air flow into the barrel. With this hammer you can shoot even the heaviest slugs at full power.

The package also includes an angled manometer for installation on the side of the power plenum, so you always have an overview of the current pressure both in the air cylinder and at the regulator.

Match-grade trigger mechanism

The DRS Pro model is also equipped with a redesigned 2-stage trigger mechanism tailored for shooting competitions, which require the lowest possible trigger pull and a 100% distinct break point at the shot. This is exactly where the fully adjustable match-grade trigger comes into play.

30 MOA Picatinny Rail

The last feature distinguishing the DRS Pro from the DRS Classic is the extended Picatinny rail with 30 MOA cant. This inclination makes it easier to zero the scope for shooting at extreme distances, and at the same time gives you more space for mounting larger optics. The rail can be removed to reveal the standard 11 mm dovetail.

Nothing else changes

All other components remain unchanged, such as the Superior Heavy Smooth Twist X barrel – the rifling is formed from the outside of the barrel. The result is an exceptionally smooth internal surface, which minimises friction during the shot. The air cylinder running around the barrel also serves as a barrel sleeve, the so-called shroud, which stiffens the entire air rifle and reduces oscillations during the shot. The outer diameter of the shroud is 34 mm. For the optional installation of a sound moderator, the muzzle is equipped with a standard 1/2UNF thread.

The SHP power plenum protrudes from the bottom and resembles a standard magazine. The actual magazine, however, is inserted as usual into the slot in the middle of the scope rail and holds projectiles up to 11.3 mm long (0.45”). The adjustment elements of the AMP MkII regulator and the hammer spring have been moved inside the stock, which must be removed for adjustment after undoing a single screw. The sidelever is fixed on the right-hand side, as is the lever-type manual safety. On the left-hand side there is a manometer indicating the current pressure in the air cylinder.

The Pro MDT model is supplied in a rugged plastic case with a precision cut-out for the air rifle and a scope.

NOTE: With this air rifle it is necessary to keep an eye on the remaining pressure in the air cylinder. We recommend maintaining a pressure of approximately 150 bar and above. If the pressure drops below the regulator’s set value, the air rifle may fully vent.
