The fact that the Swedish company FX Airguns is once again coming out with a high‑performance and exceptionally accurate PCP air rifle is no big surprise. Their airguns are already renowned worldwide. This time, however, they have come up with something truly unique – an air rifle whose air cylinder wraps around the barrel.
Air rifles of the FX DRS series therefore resemble sniper rifles at first glance. This impression is further enhanced by the modernized SHP power plenum protruding from the underside, which looks like a magazine. The actual magazine is, as usual, inserted into a slot in the middle of the classic 11mm dovetail rail for a riflescope and holds projectiles up to 11.3mm long (0.45“).

Superior Heavy Smooth Twist X – As is customary with FX products, the barrel rifling is pressed from the outside. The result is an exceptionally smooth inner surface, which minimizes friction during the shot. The air cylinder routed around the barrel also serves as a shroud, which shroud stiffens the entire air rifle and reduces oscillations during the shot. The outer diameter of the shroud is 34mm. For the possible installation of a sound moderator, the muzzle is equipped with the standard 1/2UNF thread.
To maintain the sleek appearance of the entire air rifle, the adjustment elements of the AMP MkII regulator and the hammer spring have been moved inside the stock, which must be removed to make any adjustments. However, the rifle is factory tuned to offer the best balance of power, accuracy, and air consumption with most commonly available ammunition straight out of the box.
This model is fitted with an elegantly shaped walnut stock from the renowned Italian manufacturer Minelli, with a fixed cheekpiece and a solid buttpad made of soft rubber. The sidelever is fixed on the right side, as is the lever‑type manual safety. On the left side there is a pressure gauge indicating the current pressure in the air cylinder, and the fully adjustable trigger with variable blade position almost goes without saying.
NOTE: The muzzle energy and muzzle velocity values were achieved with the rifle set to maximum power and under ideal conditions. Actual values may differ.
NOTE: With this air rifle, it is necessary to pay attention to the remaining pressure in the air cylinder. We recommend maintaining a pressure of approximately 150 bar or higher. If the pressure drops below the regulator’s set value, the rifle may completely depressurize.

Beautiful and powerful weapon, I recommend to use slug type cartridges of at
least 34gr. The regulator is factory set at 150 Bar and when shooting the JSB
Slug 25gr the velocity was over 1060 fps. but the gun still „popped“ (the
valve would close after the round left the barrel). Using 34gr ammo helped a
bit, but I ended up having to increase the pressure on the regulator to
170 Bar (it closes the valve faster then) and then fine tuned the firing pin
spring so the gun didn't „pop“ and found the ideal sweetspot for 34gr
H&N slugs at about 985fps. In my opinion, a gun this powerful cannot be used
with pellets (pellets) which are unstable at these velocities. For final tuning
I used a heavier hammer and a stronger spring (or various combinations
depending on the regulated pressure). The key to the tuning is that the spring
should NOT be permanently compressed (for higher pressures Above 160 Bar and
standard hammer), but that it should not be completely relaxed again – in
both cases the consistency is not ideal.

Quality workmanship, strength, and precision. It is quite noisy. If you are
filling with a compressor, let a little air from a tank into the cartridge to
have a non-zero „working“ pressure, otherwise the compressor will not
fill it.
