Decorative replica of an 18th-century Scottish pistol. It is made as an all-metal collector’s item with a richly decorated finish.

Historical original

Scottish flintlock pistols were among the characteristic weapons of the Scottish Highlands in the 18th century. An important production centre was the town of Doune, where gunsmiths made pistols for clan members; following the Jacobite uprising of 1745 and the Disarming Act of 1746, demand in the Highlands declined. However, armourers from Doune continued to supply broader social groups and officers of Scottish regiments in the British Army.
