The JuBö Bushcraft Tinder Firesteel - FatWood fire starter is a compact fire-starting kit for bushcraft, hiking, camping, outdoor stays and emergency gear. It combines a firesteel rod with two integrated tinder sources – a fatwood handle and a FireCord lanyard. This means you always have tinder directly with the fire starter, without having to rely solely on suitable dry material in the surroundings.
Construction and specifications
The handle, approximately 75 mm long and measuring approx. 20 × 20 mm, is made of fatwood, a resinous wood with a high resin content. Fine shavings or flakes for tinder can be prepared from it using a knife; if the surface is damp, simply remove the outer layer and use the material inside. The fire starter is complemented by a FireCord lanyard, which serves for hanging and contains an ignitable section that can be used as additional tinder. The firesteel rod has a diameter of 8 mm.
