Fenix HM65R is a universal outdoor headlamp with a wide range of uses. Thanks to its high durability, weight of only 147 g including the battery, and exceptional performance, it will be appreciated not only by hunters or members of emergency services, but also by all kinds of athletes from cavers to climbers, cyclists, and hikers.
The headlamp has two independent reflectors. A narrow spotlight with a beam distance of up to 1000 lumens and a wide beam for illuminating nearby objects with an output of up to 400 lm. The spotlight uses a LED Cree XM-L2 U2 light source and has a beam distance of up to 163 m. It offers 4 different light modes with outputs of 1000 lm (runtime 4 h), 400 lm (runtime 22 h), 130 lm (runtime 42 h), and 50 lm (runtime 97 h). The wide reflector boasts a Cree XP-G2 R5 light source and a beam distance of up to 55 m. It has 3 light modes with outputs of 400 lm (runtime 21 h), 130 lm (runtime 50 h), and 400 lm (runtime 300 h).
Both reflectors can be freely combined to achieve the ideal beam pattern, or a maximum output of 1400 lm when both reflectors are used at full power. It is powered by a rechargeable 18650 battery with a capacity of 3500 mAh, which is charged via a USB-C connector. In an emergency, however, you can replace it with two CR123A batteries. The headlamp has simple top-side controls with a battery status indicator. A long press of the button switches the respective reflector on and off. A short press when it is on then cycles through the modes. By pressing and holding both buttons when the headlamp is off, you can lock the headlamp and thus protect the battery from accidental activation in your backpack.
Compared to competing headlamps, the HM65R has the advantage of a robust magnesium alloy construction. This is a third lighter than commonly used aluminium alloys. The headlamp withstands a drop from a height of 2 metres, so you don’t have to worry about damage if it falls off your head. At the same time, it boasts an IP68 rating. It is therefore dustproof and waterproof down to a depth of 2 metres.
