Fenix HM61R Amber is a universal outdoor headlamp with a wide range of uses. Thanks to its high durability, weight of only 149 g including the battery, and exceptional performance, it will be appreciated not only by hunters or emergency service members, but also by athletes of all kinds, from cavers to climbers, cyclists, and hikers.
The headlamp has a single reflector, inside which you will find both a powerful LED Luminus SST-40 and 2 red LED Everlight. The main light source is the Luminus LED, which offers a neutral light tint with an output of up to 1200 lm and a beam distance of up to 145 m. It has 5 different white light modes with outputs of 1200 lm (runtime 2 h), 400 lm (runtime 4 h), 150 lm (runtime 12 h), 50 lm (runtime 38 h) and 5 lm (runtime 300 hours). The red diodes offer 3 modes with outputs of 1 lm (runtime 400 h), 5 lm (runtime 80 h) and flashing 5 lm (runtime 160 h).
Both lights are powered by a rechargeable 18650 battery with a capacity of 3500 mAh, which is charged via a magnetic connector. In an emergency, however, you can replace it with two CR123A batteries. The headlamp has a button with a battery status indicator on the side right next to the reflector. A long press of the button is used to switch the white light on and off. A quick double-click switches the red light on and off. A short press while the light is on then toggles between the modes of each light. By twisting the battery cap, you can lock the headlamp and thus protect the battery from being accidentally switched on in your backpack.
The headlamp features a durable aluminium alloy body. It withstands a drop from a height of 2 metres, so you don’t have to worry about anything happening to it if it falls off your head. At the same time, it also boasts an IP68 rating. It is therefore dustproof and waterproof to a depth of 2 metres. Compared to other models, you can remove the headlamp from the mount and turn it into a handheld torch. In addition, it has a metal pocket clip for comfortable carry. A magnet at the end of the tailcap allows you to attach the light to any magnetic metal surface.
