Classic 3 is the best-selling UV purifier from Steripen. Its low weight and compact dimensions make it an ideal purification device for use during outdoor activities or on long trips, where every gram saved is worth its weight in gold.
The UV purification method removes 99.9% of harmful bacteria and microorganisms from water. It reliably destroys viruses, bacteria, giardia and cryptosporidium by breaking down their DNA/RNA. Efficiency can be further increased by using the optional 40‑micron pre-filter, which can also treat slightly turbid water.
Purifying 1 litre of water takes 1.5 minutes, and the maximum service life is 4000 l. Only visually clear water is suitable for purification.
During transport it must be kept in mind that this is an electrical device, which requires more careful handling than manual filters. The power source for this device is 4 AA batteries (not included). The number of activations depends on the type of battery used. With alkaline batteries you get 25 activations, with lithium batteries 150 activations, and with NiMH 100 activations per charge.
