Bear Archery is a company with a tradition dating back to 1933. That year in Detroit, Fred Bear and Charles Piper decided to start a company together. At first, they focused on screen printing and advertising work for car manufacturers, but in 1938 Fred Bear hired carpenter and archer Nels Grumley and the company expanded its range to include handmade bows. Since then, the company has changed owners many times, but the name has remained the same.
