BeaverCraft Universal Forest Felling Axe AX4 is a versatile forest felling notch axe designed for working with wood.
felling notch axe
A felling notch axe is primarily used to create a felling notch in the trunk before the actual felling. This notch helps determine the direction in which the tree will fall. The AX4 model is suitable for forestry work, firewood preparation and other tasks requiring precise chopping into wood and working on trunks.
Construction and design
The AX4 axe is built around a robust hand-forged head made from high-carbon 1066 steel with a hardness of 56–58 HRC, offering high durability and long-term reliable performance. The head features a wide profile and a slightly curved 125 mm cutting edge, whose convex grind enables deep and smooth penetration into wood.
The ergonomically shaped handle, measuring 560 mm in length, is made from durable ash wood and, thanks to its slight curve, provides a comfortable and secure grip when swinging. The handle surface is treated with linseed oil and wax, which help protect the wood and extend its service life. The widened end grip also helps prevent the axe from slipping out of the hand during use.
