A 12g CO2 cartridge is inserted into the revolver's grip, which takes care of firing the gun.
Unusually, there is a manual safety on the revolver which is used to secure the gun. The sight of the revolver serves as a safety for unscrewing the cylinder. For comfortable drawing of six cartridges, the cylinder must be cranked to the maximum position. The cartridges are designed for lead pellets. The advantage of the Schofield is the workmanship, the use of metal parts and the design of the gun. This revolver has a smoothbore barrel.
