New videos and reviews every day 6000+ reviews from our customers The PCP air rifle FX Crown MkII Synthetic represents the second generation of the premium Crown series from Swedish manufacturer FX Airguns, combining classic rifle styling with advanced modern PCP air rifle technology. Compared with its predecessor, it features a redesigned air system with a larger power plenum and valve, greater power potential and a new Picatinny rail with a 20 MOA incline. It retains the exceptionally accurate Superlight STX barrel, extensive adjustment options and refined ergonomics.
One of the air rifle's main strengths is its lightweight Superlight STX (Smooth Twist X) barrel system with an interchangeable liner whose rifling is formed by pressing from the outside. The result is an exceptionally smooth internal barrel surface with precisely formed rifling, minimising projectile friction and contributing to outstanding shooting accuracy.
Thanks to the interchangeable liner system, the barrel can be adapted to different ammunition types and their rifling twist rate requirements. The barrel features a protective shroud and a 1/2 UNF muzzle thread for fitting a sound moderator.
The most significant change in the second generation is the Power Plenum enlarged by 28 % compared with the original model. The increased volume of regulated air works together with optimised air passages and a new valve with a diameter of 6,5 mm, allowing more efficient airflow and significantly increasing the air rifle's power potential.
Compressed air is stored in a 480 cm³ carbon-fibre bottle with a maximum fill pressure of 250 bar. Air is replenished via a Foster quick-connect adapter, located on the underside of the air rifle between two pressure gauges.
Stable air pressure supplied to the plenum is maintained by an externally adjustable AMP MkII (Adjustable Match Precision) regulator. Its output pressure can be monitored on a dedicated pressure gauge, while the second gauge displays the current pressure in the carbon-fibre bottle. Both are discreetly positioned on the underside of the stock.
The FX Crown MkII offers three independent adjustment options for the air system, allowing its characteristics to be tailored to the ammunition used and the desired power output. In addition to the regulator, there is separate airflow adjustment via a rotary control on the left side of the action and hammer spring preload adjustment via the rear adjustment wheel.
Another highlight of this series is the precision FX Match two-stage trigger, which offers extensive individual adjustment options. The first stage allows adjustment of travel and, to a limited extent, pull weight, while both travel and pull weight can be adjusted for the second stage. This allows an exceptionally light and predictable trigger pull.
Another new feature of the second generation is the Picatinny rail with a 20 MOA incline, which provides a greater usable range of scope elevation adjustment when shooting at longer distances.
Convenient and fast reloading is ensured by a right-hand sidelever with smooth operation. The right side of the action also houses a manual safety lever.
This version is fitted with a lightweight and durable polymer stock with a pleasant Soft Touch finish, providing a secure grip while requiring minimal maintenance. Its symmetrical design with an ergonomic thumbhole allows comfortable use by both right-handed and left-handed shooters.
The stock is complemented by a raised fixed cheekpiece for a comfortable cheek weld when aiming through a scope and a height-adjustable rubber butt pad.
