PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Smoke Wagon is one of the many recplicas of the Peacemaker revolver. Compared to the others, it stands out with its extravagant design, whose characteristic features are the nickel-plated surface, the golden magazine, hammer and trigger and ivory-like grip scales decorated with a card symbol in the form of a spade.

As for the construction, it is made entirely of metal and features a 140mm rifled barrel allowing accurate shooting at short distances, a magazine for 6 cartridges and a single action trigger. The entire mechanism is then powered by a single 12g CO2 cartridge with a capacity of up to 60 shots and can be locked between shots by a manual sliding safety.

To fire the revolver, it uses 4.5mm lead pellets that are inserted directly into faithful replica cartridges.

Machine translation

The Colt Single Action Army (also known as SAA, Model P, Peacemaker) was adopted as the standard revolver of the American army from 1873 to 1892. The Colt SAA revolver was offered in more than 30 different calibers and with various barrel lengths. It was manufactured as the First Generation (1873–1941) and in small series later on. In competition with the Smith and Wesson Model 3 Schofield, which is also available on Balistas, it ultimately „won“ with the American army due to large stocks of ammunition for the Colt. Colt used the same caliber, but the cartridge case was longer and therefore not usable in the Schofield, which led to its phasing out. This replica also has a longer cartridge case, which cannot be inserted into other revolvers I have. This revolver was very popular both in the army and in the Wild West. You can find a lot of information about this weapon on Wiki. It is a nice piece for display as well.

  • The replica corresponds to the real model. Loading cartridges is only possible one at a time after flipping open the segment behind the cylinder, while first pulling the hammer to the first position is necessary. Then rotate the cylinder a bit further. And so on in a loop.
  • The craftsmanship is very high quality; after all, you can find many reviews on YouTube. However, my piece does not have the serial number of the series etched, as it is on YouTube.
  • The cartridge ejector is functional, however it is not necessary, as the cartridges fall out by their own weight because they are not expanded by the shot.
  • Diabolos can be loaded into the cartridges directly in the cylinder, which is gold-plated here.
  • The trigger is light and its travel is short.
  • Some details, enforced by the security of our times, are disturbing, such as the safety blocking mechanism and the position of the cock, which probably relates to the function of the air revolver.
